CEM Educational Partnerships
We work closely with schools regionally and nationally to offer flexible and affordable pathways through various educational partnerships.
Pathway agreement between the University of North Dakota and various smaller colleges and universities provide students an opportunity to earn dual degrees. These partnerships provide you with access to UND’s extensive experience in providing online and distance learning opportunities.
UND works with our partner institutions to create plans to ensure you are taking the right coursework at the right time to complete your degree on time, without excess credits. These agreements layout a plan of study so you have a precise educational direction to help you complete your degree at UND.
Why UND Engineering?
The College of Engineering & Mines has seven departments, with several certificates majors, minors, combined degrees and graduate programs. Many of our programs are available online and recognized by U.S. News & World Report as top online engineering programs.
Types of UND Pathway Partnership Programs
2+ Pathways
The 2+2 programs in UND’s College of Engineering and Mines are meant to provide students the flexibility of taking lower-level courses at one of the partnered institutions and to transfer to UND to complete the remaining requirements in their junior and senior years.
- Students may earn their Associate’s Degree from their home institution before attending UND to earn a Bachelor’s in their intended major.
- In order to ensure that students in the 2+2 program are taking the right course at the right time, UND has worked with our partner institutions and created degree plans that show a path towards graduation. Depending on what institution a student is attending, it may require students to begin taking courses at UND prior to their junior year.
UND has 2+2 agreements in place with the following institutions:
- Bismarck State College
- Dickinson State University
- Williston State College
Lower Cost Models for Independent Colleges Consortium
The Lower Cost Models for Independent Colleges Consortium (LCMC) is a consortium of small colleges and universities that has partnered with the University of North Dakota to provide students with an opportunity to earn dual degrees.

Through these agreements, students can complete two degrees in four or five years by sharing their credits between the two institutions.
