CEM Collaborative Experiences
Bridging campus to career through collaborative partnerships.
Collaborative Experiences (CoEx) is intended to be a one stop shopping experience for industry partners trying to connect with the College of Engineering and Mines (CEM) at the University of North Dakota. This partnership fosters a symbiotic relationship where:
- Industry partners build brand recognition and a talent pipeline by connecting directly with students.
- Students gain essential real-world exposure and professional experience.
- Faculty and industry drive innovation through joint research initiatives.
Capstone Projects
The Collaborative Experiences Capstone Course simulates an engineering consulting firm with an academic environment. Following industry models, students will have opportunities to participate in single or interdisciplinary projects provided by industry partners. Project teams will consist of both on- and off-campus students to mirror today's job market where video conferencing and distance collaboration are part of day-to-day life.

Direct Student Engagement
CoEx gives industry partners the chance to connect directly with students using various methods. Companies can hold on-campus presentations, speak to specific classes, or work with student organizations. This helps them share information about their company and the jobs they offer.
Recruiting Students
Recruiting top talent for internships and full-time jobs is a big priority. CoEx connects companies to UND’s Career Services and makes it easier for them to advertise job opportunities directly to students.
Research Centers & Initiatives
Do you need to explore research beyond a student capstone project? The CEM faculty have extensive knowledge and research interests in many fields. CoEx will work with you to find and connect with the best researcher for your specialized project needs.
Partnering with the UND Center for Innovation
If you're a start-up needing help with launching, marketing or business support, the UND Center for Innovation can help. CoEx will handle the initial introductions and coordinate projects between your company and the Center for Innovation to bring your vision to reality.
