With 70+ degree and certificate programs in engineering, computer science and geology, students at the College of Engineering & Mines are equipped with personalized curriculums based on their unique goals and interests. Located in Grand Forks, North Dakota, UND is ranked nationally in the top 5% of universities in research excellence.
Leaders in Online Programs
UND has been offering a distance engineering program for more than 30 years (starting with VHS tapes of lectures being mailed out to our distance students!), being the first university to offer an accredited engineering program via distance in most of our majors.
For students pursuing a degree online, our online delivery mode offers an opportunity to complete the majority of their undergraduate degree coursework remotely. They get the same degree as the campus students, but can watch lectures in a format that fits their schedule.
In most programs, students are required to complete their engineering laboratory requirements through condensed summer courses in person at UND (except Electrical Engineering & Computer Science which utilize virtual labs and at-home kits). Since our online students experience the same lectures and coursework requirements as our on campus students, we consider this education experience to be essentially equivalent and our online graduates receive the same accredited degrees, career prospects, and recognition as our campus students.
Real Research. Real Results.
