DER Edge Security Virtual Bootcamp
Join us June 23-25, 2025.
DER Edge Security Bootcamp is a three-day virtual bootcamp, June 23-25, 2025, hosted by Center for Cyber Security Research, IEEE PES and IEEE PELS Student Chapter Red River Valley designed for high school, college and graduate students interested in AI, ethical hacking and cyber defense. Students will explore real-world use cases, develop hands-on skills and gain mentorship from UND faculty and researchers.

Agenda
Each day is a four hours.
Edge Device and Network Foundations
- Introduction to NVIDIA Jetson Devices – 1 hour
- Introduction to Kubernetes – 1 hour
- Hands-on training and exercises – 2 hours
Federated Learning and Unlearning Environment
- Introduction to Federated Learning for DER – 1 hour
- Introduction to Adversaries Unlearning for DER – 1 hour
- Hands-on training and exercises – 2 hours
Cyberattacks and Penetration Testing
- Introduction to Real-World DER Attack Vectors – 1 hour
- Python Scripting Workshop – 1 hour
- Introduction to Edge Penetration Testing strategies – 2 hours
