Partnership Opportunities

The AIR center at UND is structured to handle the complex challenges presented by the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence, both nationally and globally.

Built on the foundation of research excellence, the AIR Center aims to explore the most fundamental scientific questions within the AI field and their use in other fields. This research not only provides critical insights but also helps overcome technical barriers through rigorous development processes.

Business and technology development initiatives at the AIR center will lead to cutting-edge AI solutions, with the center's vision realized through training and strategic partnerships with industry, government, and academia.

AIR Opportunities

  • Students: Offering career-focused education, training, and research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate programs to ensure a high-quality learning experience.
  • Researchers: Providing mentoring to junior faculty and postdoctoral fellows, with support and training in AI available to all UND researchers interested in integrating AI within their domains and disciplines.
  • UND Colleges and Departments: Creating forums and avenues for faculty and staff across all UND colleges and units to actively advance AI integration through multidisciplinary research initiatives, encouraging partnerships with U.S. and international universities.
  • Minorities and Underrepresented Groups: Enhancing the participation of students from these groups in AI education and research, partnering with minority and underrepresented group-owned small businesses to seek government small business grants in AI.
  • Government Collaboration: Developing partnerships with federal, state, and local governments to garner support for AI programs, creating proposals leading to contracts and cooperative agreements, and securing grant funding for research and development endeavors.
  • Public and Non-Government Organizations: Providing educational and training opportunities on AI technologies, seeking input on needs and directions, and fostering community engagement in safe and ethical AI practices.
  • Industry Partnerships: Establish collaborations with industry stakeholders to serve as a commercial outlet for AI technologies, identify technical challenges, and encourage investments in research and development initiatives.
  • Global Outreach: Ensuring the dissemination of AI advancements to disadvantaged nations and promoting access to AI resources as a crucial component of the AIR Center at UND.
