Technology Requirements

General Technology Requirements

For all on-campus and distance engineering students, we recommend owning a computer with the following technical specifications:

  • Windows or Mac operating system. Note that some engineering software requires Windows to run, but you can install Windows on a Mac computer.
  • 16GB of RAM
  • Solid State Drive (SSD)
  • Intel i7 or equivalent processor (8th generation or newer)
  • Dedicated graphics card (not required, but nice to have)

Please note that any of the Dell models labeled 2-in-1 will be compatible with ProctorU.

Distance Engineering Additional Requirements

In addition to the recommended computer specifications, Distance Engineering Degree Program students, or any student taking an engineering class via distance delivery mode (online) with PDF formatted exams, will need to refer to the technical requirements necessary for using ProctorU for administration of exams:
